Multi-Criteria Optimization in Operations Scheduling Applying Selected Priority Rules

چکیده

The utilization of a specific priority rule in scheduling operations flexible job shop systems strongly influences production goals. In context control real practice, performance indicators are evaluated always en bloc. This paper addresses the multi-criteria evaluating five selected conflicting objectives via scalar simulation-based optimization related to applied rule. It is connected discrete-event simulation model system with partially interchangeable workplaces, and it investigates impact three rules—FIFO (First First Out), EDD (Earliest Due Date), STR (Slack Time Remaining). definition objective function, two scalarization methods—Weighted Sum Method Weighted Product Method—are employed model. According observations, rules outperformed FIFO regardless type method for investigated system. results experiments also indicate that evaluation applying relevant identifying effective solutions design space when operations.

Multi-Criteria Scheduling Optimization Using Fuzzy Logic

In this paper we introduce a fuzzy based engine for the scheduling problem. We assume that a human planner is unable to determine the weights for a multi-objective system but is able only to compare between pairs of objectives according to a limited vocabulary. We convert this vocabulary to fuzzy terminology and apply a fuzzy based optimum search for a solution to the scheduling problem. We dem...

Multi-Criteria Scheduling Optimization With Genetic Algorithms

Multi-criteria scheduling optimization with genetic algorithms is described. Scheduling optimization methodology provides the planner with a quick and efficient scheduling method and enables him/her to experiment and decide which of the suitable solutions will become the production plan. The scheduling system is composed of a business information system a database, a discrete event simulation m...

Multi-mode resource constrained project scheduling: scheduling schemes, priority rules and mode selection rules

This work deals with the multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling problem. In this problem, activities of the project may be executed in more than one operating mode and renewable resource constraints exist. Each activity operation mode has a different duration and requires different amount of renewable resources. The objective function considered is the minimisation of the project co...

Applying new scheduling theory to static priority pre-emptive scheduling

The paper presents exact schedulability analyses for real-time systems scheduled at run-time with a static priority pre-emptive dispatcher. The tasks to be scheduled are allowed to experience internal blocking (from other tasks with which they share resources) and (with certain restrictions) release jitter — such as waiting for a message to arrive. The analysis presented is more general than th...

Multi-criteria decision quality optimization as a Scheduling problem

Decision quality under uncertainty is a problem that has been addressed by many researchers. But most of the works dedicated to this problem assume that there is a single quality measure to computation based on the status of an n-tuple of criteria. However, in most of real-world applications the quality is multi-criteria where each criterion captures a dimension of value in the solution. In thi...
